It has been said that women have around 480 to 500 menstrual cycles in their lifetime. These days, the periods are starting earlier. For some women, it is business as usual as they go through their cycle and their whole world is not grounded to a halt.
For others, that time of the month can be described as quite eventful as they experience very painful periods including severe cramps known as dysmenorrhea. Everyone around them will one way or the other, get to know it is a very special time -they are ill, the lower abdominal pains are just too excruciating, they are unable to make it to school or work, accompanied with heavy menstrual flow. They live with the pain, school /work disruption month in, month out.
Fluctuations in the levels of estrogen and progesterone play a major role in the menstrual cycle. It is believed that the decline in hormonal levels triggers menstrual symptoms. Deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals may also be contributing factors.

Raw groundnut when blended can be used for preparing a native soup popularly called groundnut soup.
When fried, it serves as snacks and can be used for peanut butter. It can be eaten with garden egg, pop corn, and cucumber, among others. Groundnut oil and kuli-kuli can also be gotten from groundnut.
What you should know about groundnut

Lemon juice is very medicinal and contains lots of Vitamin C. When mixed with warm water, it relieves digestive problems like heartburn, nausea, bloating and belching. Though it has sour taste, its benefits are numerous only if we make use of it adequately.
Regular intake of lemon juice eliminates constipation by clearing the accumulated foods in the bowels. Asthmatic patients are however advised to take lemon juice as it reduces prolonged asthma in the body.
Ingredients
7 lemons
½ cup sugar
2 cups water
Preparation
Wash the lemon and cut into two equal parts.
Put in a blender and add 1 cup of water. Grind until it forms a smooth paste. Strain using a sieve to remove the chaff.
Heat 1 cup of water in a pot and sugar if you want extra sweetness. Boil until the sugar completely dissolves in the water. Mix the sweetened water with the lemon juice.
Allow cooling and refrigerate.
Serve chilled with vegetable yam. (If it’s too bitter, mix with little honey before drinking)
