Aging gracefully as a woman.
DailyTrust. Abuja. Nigeria. 14.3.12
It is often said that women don’t like growing old. They want to ever remain young and attractive. Aside the fact that they know their husbands naturally prefer to see them looking young than wrinkled and flaky, it does not appeal to them either when they see images of themselves looking a far cry from their days in high school or their younger days when they swept their husbands off their feet . More so, in this age of profound attachment to looks and aesthetics, it is hardly pleasant to look far older than your age mates or be rejected for job, school offers and other things because you look too old.
The snag in the whole thing is that it has made some women psychologically defensive of their age. How do reconcile the fact that a 60 year old woman gets offended when addressed respectfully as mummy by a twenty year old? Or persistently prefers to be called ‘aunty’ even by her own children. Or middle age ladies claiming to be of the same age with teenagers.
While it is one thing to age gracefully or take care of yourself to look attractive or defying aging mildly, going to the extreme for fear of aging is another. Some women are so afraid of aging that they have become obsessed with cosmetic surgery ; they take several bouts of Botox injections, go for face lifts , tummy tuck to have flat tummies like their daughters, buy every drug or herb they hear has anti aging effects or every cosmetic soap or cream regardless of whatever health implications they have . Some celebrities these days do not even look like human beings because of things they have done to their bodies in their bids to ensure they are never seen with wrinkles.
Aging is a naturally process and something every woman should accept. According to Maxwell Unamba, a writer on women and beauty issues, health fitness and lifestyle, “as we grow older the body naturally begin to lose its youthful appearance as a result of the reduction of collagen and human growth hormone (HGH). So, what is the safe way to checkmate the decrease of these essential body protein and hormone? It has been proven by biological sciences that collagen and HGH are key factors in giving the body its youthful look.

Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases.
FB. 13.3.12
Cinnamon and Honey; Whoever thought?
Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. What it will do is what some call 'turning to sugar'. In reality, honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will "crystallize". When this happens loosen the lid, boil some water and sit the honey container in the hot water, but turn off the heat and let it liquefy naturally. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. This will kill the enzymes in the honey.
Cinnamon and Honey
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:
HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply it on bread instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, when they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

Scientists validate Moringa as cheap water purifier, medicine. Guardian.
Lagos. Nigeria. 8.3.12
More studies are validating the status of Moringa oleifera as ‘miracle and cure all tree.’ CHUKWUMA MUANYA writes.
THE American Chemical Society (ACS) has joined the list of organisations validating the efficacy of Moringa oleifera as a cheap and sustainable product for purifying drinking water, and tackling malnutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases in developing nations.
Until now, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) have promoted moringa leaf for years as an inexpensive health booster for poor countries, especially in addressing malnutrition.
Commonly known in the English language as the ben oil tree, the horseradish tree, or the drumstick tree, Moringa oleifera belongs to the plant family Moringaceae.
In Nigeria, it is called Ewe ile, Ewe igbale, or Idagbo monoye (the tree which grows crazily) in Yoruba; Gawara, Habiwal hausa, Konamarade, or Rini maka in Fulani; Bagaruwar maka, Bagaruwar masar, Barambo, Koraukin zaila, Shipka hali, Shuka halinka, Rimin nacara, Rimin turawa, Zogall, or Zogalla-gandi in Hausa; and Odudu oyibo, Okochi egbu, Okwe olu, Okwe oyibo, Okughara ite, Uhe, Ikwe beke in Ibo.
The latest episode in the ACS award-winning “Global challenges/chemistry colutions“ podcast series describes how the seeds of the “miracle tree” can be used to produce clean drinking water. The research appears in ACS’ journal Langmuir.
The new water-treatment process requiring only tree seeds and sand could purify and clarify water inexpensively and sustainably in the developing world, where more than one billion people lack access to clean drinking water, scientists report.
Removing the disease-causing microbes and sediment from drinking water requires technology not always available in rural areas of developing countries. For an alternative approach, scientists looked to Moringa oleifera, also called the “miracle tree,” a plant grown in equatorial regions for food, traditional medicine and biofuel.
